Why Summer Camp?
Summer camp provides a unique developmental opportunity for young people. Away from their regular routine and removed from the distractions of everyday life, campers are presented with wonderful opportunities to learn and grow. Under the careful supervision of trained staff, campers become part of an intentional community centered on positive values. Campers gain new insights into who they are and how they relate to others. Research shows that children who attend camp become more independence, grow in self-confidence, and develop important social skills.
Why Camp Lookout?
Outstanding Staff
While Camp Lookout has a great setting and wonderful programs, our greatest strength is our staff. We recruit throughout the country and in our local United Methodist Churches looking for Christian men and women to serve as role models, friends, and mentors to our campers. Each staff member has been carefully selected and takes part in an extensive training program and background check prior to camp. Throughout the summer, every staff takes part in ongoing training and are provided feedback, coaching, and support. Our staff care deeply about their faith, love to work with kids, and have an infectious enthusiasm for life. They are focused on the needs of campers and are committed to helping each child get the most out of camp.

Community Experience
At Camp Lookout, campers have the opportunity to choose their daily activities from age-appropriate offerings, which provides time for campers to experience small-group communities and meet new friends. Campers also experience small-group communities through cabin and bible study groups, while high-energy activities, such as worship, singing, and evening parties, are experienced in a large-group setting.

Focus on Faith
Camp Lookout is a special place in God's creation where campers can explore many new activities, as well as their relationship with Jesus Christ. Through daily group worship, bible study, and experiencing God's love from staff and campers, campers are challenged and inspired to explore and grow in faith. From powerful high energy worship to quiet reflective prayer, opportunities abound for campers to grow in their faith. Pastors, Youth Directors, Children Ministers, and dedicated laity serve as Ministers in Residence (spiritual directors) each week to share the Christian journey with campers and staff.

Commitment to Health & Safety
The health and safety of every camper is our priority. We carefully design and conduct all of our programs with safety in mind. From our pool to our archery range to our adventure activities, we work hard to ensure campers have a fun and safe experience. To keep our camp community healthy, we have trained health care professionals on site 24 hours a day.
