2017 Summer Camp: Grades 5-6
Older elementary camp (grades 5-6)
This is the heart of our camping ministry program. It’s a great adventure in the spiritual and social development of campers. Meeting new friends, trying new challenges, and experiencing God’s outdoor world will instill in campers a greater confidence and sense of self.
Intro to kayaking (Grades 5-6)
This camp session is specifically designed for campers wanting to learn to kayak. No previous experience is needed. Campers will learn the basics of equipment and paddling in our pool and lake, and then apply those skills by paddling the Lower Hiwassee.
Horseback sampler (grades 5-6)
This is a great introduction to working with and riding horses at the Camp Lookout Barn–there is no previous experience needed! Because our horseback program focuses on building a relationship between horse and camper, campers will learn basic riding skills as well as get a taste of what it is like to own a horse.
Horseback I (Grades 5-6)
This camping session is designed for beginning-intermediate level riders. Campers will work at the Camp Lookout Barn with an emphasis on growing in their knowledge and love for horses while improving their horsemanship.
- 4 nights and 5 days of camp fun and excitement
- 3 sessions of working with horses (3 hours each)
- Safety is emphasized while caring for horses and tack, including arena riding
- Awesome grade-appropriate activities from which campers create their daily schedule (see list here)
