Summer Camp Staff Openings
Camp Lookout, a camp and retreat ministry of the Holston Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church (located on Lookout Mountain, GA, just minutes from Chattanooga, TN), is looking for summer camp staff who feel God's call to share the Love of Christ. Offering paid positions with room and board (must be at least 16 years of age to hold a paid position).
Three qualities are a must:

Camp Counselors – at least 1 year out of High School
- Need both male and female counselors
- Paid positions with room and board included
- Training provided; experience is a plus but not mandatory. Training will cover, childcare, safety, camp policy, emergency protocols and procedures, bible study leadership, and much more.
- Activity training and certifications (ex. Lifeguard, archery, ropes course, caving, etc..) is available
- Extra work available on many weekends for additional pay
Specialty Staff
Outdoor Adventure Instructors – (We have several positions that require very specialized outdoor activity leadership skills. These positions do not usually have cabin responsibilities with campers. If you love any of these activities and have experience, a willingness to receive more training and/or certification, would enjoy teaching and leading children and youth, and have a passion for sharing the love of Jesus Christ – you need to be at Camp Lookout this summer.)

- Looking for a few staff that have previous experience and skills in:
- Whitewater Kayaking instructor/leader -
- Ropes course instructor/leader
- Rock Climbing and Rappelling instructor/leader
- Caving leader
- Outdoor Adventure Trip Leader
Health Director – oversees the health care system and equipment of camp, proper security and distribution of prescribed and over-the-counter medication brought by campers and staff, up-keep of medical records, organization of infirmary, and on-going in-service training for the rest of staff.
- Someone who is interested in medical concerns and is very organized.
- Understands the importance of record keeping, confidentiality of health issues and records, and the ability to serve as the director of healthcare for Camp Lookout (Professional medical support and advice is available 24 hours a day via RN)
- A minimum of Advanced First Aid (or willingness to achieve before camp begins)
- Any of the following would be welcomed to be a part of our team as well - EMT, RN, Nursing student, PA student, MD –
Aquatics Director –
- Experience with pool water testing (or willing to learn)
- Certified Lifeguard (or willingness and ability to achieve before camp begins)
- Previous experience as an aquatics employee is preferred, but not a must.
- At least 21 years old preferred
Horseback Instructors (Lead instructor and assistant instructor)
- Experience in teaching others on horse care and riding skills
- CHA certification (or equivalent) or the willingness to attend class to achieve certification as instructor.
- 21 years of age or over
- Must love working with children in a beginning horseback riding program
Media Director
- A love for photos, video, and sharing memories of camp
- A knowledge of basic technology
- Comfortable with Social Media
- Organizational skills to catalog photos from the summer
- Ability to setup and run multi-media equipment (including sound systems, projectors, using Media Shout – or other presenter program)
Property Assistant
- Knowledge or willingness to learn basic maintenance practices and tools
- Ability to operate zero turn lawn mower and tractor
- Valid Driver’s license, with clean driving record to pass insurance background check
- 21 or over is preferred, but not mandatory
Support Staff
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Provide valuable behind the scenes support
- Setting up and leading Evening Activities
- Assisting with Program Activities
- Kitchen support – setup and cleanup
- Assisting other staff
