Summer camp 2024 schedule
Background
Camp Lookout has been holding summer camp on top of Lookout Mountain since 1959. Here, in this "Place Set Apart," children and youth can experience exciting activities led by caring and well-trained staff, along with the love of Jesus Christ in the glory of God's creation. Through large-group worship and recreation and small cabin and bible study groups, campers are accepted, supported, and have the opportunity to form friendships that can last a lifetime. Our strong commitment to excellence means that campers will experience summer camp at its very best! At Camp Lookout, we offer a wide range of camp opportunities to meet the needs of campers of all ages and interests. We have camp sessions for first graders through high school seniors, as well as a special needs camp for older youth and adults.
camp lookout Staff
Our greatest strength at Camp Lookout is our staff. Each staff member is selected based on their ability to serve as role models, friends, and mentors to our campers. Every staff member takes part in an extensive training program and background check prior to camp. Our staff members are passionate about walking daily with God, love to work with kids, and possess an infectious enthusiasm for life. They are focused on the needs of campers and are committed to helping each child and youth get the most out of camp.
Spirituality at campCamp Lookout is a special place in God’s creation where campers can explore and grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Through daily group worship, Bible study, morning devotions, and daily singing, campers are challenged and inspired to explore their faith and experience the love of Jesus Christ. From powerful high energy worship to quiet reflective prayer, opportunities abound for campers to grow in their faith. Pastors, Youth Directors, Children’s Ministers, and dedicated laity serve as Ministers in Residence (spiritual directors) each week to share the Christian journey with campers and staff.

life at camp lookout
Summer camp provides a unique developmental opportunity for young people. Away from their
regular routine and removed from the distractions of everyday life, campers are presented with wonderful opportunities to learn and grow in the great outdoors. At camp, campers become part of an intentional, God-centered community. Campers gain new insights into who they are and how they relate to others. Research shows that children who attend camp become more independent, grow in self-confidence, and develop important social skills.
Camp Lookout has a variety of housing options for campers, all of which include air-conditioning. Most cabins include bathroom accommodations, while others require using the bathhouse. Campers will stay in age-appropriate accommodations with the corresponding staff-to-camper ratio staying with them. Along with fellowshipping in the cabins, campers enjoy sharing meals together in Lookout Lodge at the same time every day. The Camp Lookout schedule offers structure and routine in a camper’s day, with more fun and excitement around every corner.
