End of the Week Update!

What an amazing week we have had with our campers! Last night we had a beautiful Communion service in the Chapel (due to the yucky weather) and our campers were able to make the choice to commit themselves to Christ. This is always an amazing step for our staff to be able to watch. Our campers and their Bible study groups also each gave presentations about what they've learned at camp this week, they all did a great job!
Last night our kayakers also returned back to camp after spending three days at the river paddling! It's safe to say they were pretty worn out, but were still able to participate in Communion with everyone else as well as have Bible Study together.
Our staff is very thankful for the time we were able to spend with our campers this week. We will all be continuing to pray for the campers even after they leave us. We hope they will continue to progress in their faith journey and following Christ. We hope everyone has an awesome rest of the Summer and successful school year!
Our day campers have also been having lots of fun this week! Yesterday they went on an adventure to Cloudland Canyon and went hiking along with having a picnic lunch together. Today they are spending time in the craft hut making some beautiful artwork as well as going swimming! We are so glad they were able to join us this week and will miss them when they leave this afternoon!

wednesday & Relay Night!

We had so much fun with our older elementary campers last night as they participated in relay night! From pool noodle races, to sponge pass, to potato sack races our campers did an awesome job cheering on their Bible Study group. Each team had their own color with face paint to match and some even came up with some awesome cheers!
Today our campers had another full day of activities! Some went on caving trips, or went hiking around camp, and fishing in our lake while others chose to try out the zipline or climbing wall! Our horse back campers spent most of their day at the barn riding and taking care of the horses and our barn! Today our campers also had small group Bible Study and MIR time as usual; they talked about seeking the truth and continuing to trust in God's ultimate plan. Through out the week they have also been sharing "God sightings" they have at camp with one another. Tonight our campers will be enjoying some group dancing time in the Chapel followed by a campfire complete with S'Mores and campfire songs!
Our kayaking campers are still at the river camping out and having an awesome time! They will be returning back to camp tomorrow evening and we can't wait to hear all about their trip!
Day Camp Adventure also had another eventful day! They got to enjoy some time swimming in the pool and they even tried out our low ropes course here at camp! They also had their own small group Bible study today. We are excited to have them back with us tomorrow for another full day of faith and fun!

This week at camp we have three main camps, the biggest being our 3rd and 4th grade campers. We also have a group of high school aged campers that are here for kayaking camp as well as a group of day campers. Yesterday our Kayakers practiced their skills in our pool and lake here at camp so they were prepared to leave for the river this morning! They will be camping out the next two nights and paddling on the Hiwassee River.
Yesterday our older elementary campers were able to start their morning with some group games and a picnic lunch to get to know their Bible Study groups. Yesterday evening they all had small group Bible study and worship time with our MIR and their fellow campers in the Chapel. But thats not all! Yesterday we celebrated Christmas in July here at camp. Group dancing and mixers in the Chapel last night consisted of a lot of Christmas spirit and fun! Finally, our campers ended the night with some Christmas themed cookies and milk being delivered to their cabins before bed time. Today our campers are off enjoying their first full day of activities. Tonight they will have relay night together! Stay tuned for more pictures and updates through out the week!
Day Camp!
This week we also have another wonderful group of day campers with us! Our Day Campers also have their own small group Bible study through out their week here. Yesterday they enjoyed swimming in the pool and they also ventured down to the creek! At the creek they were able to play in the water, search for some critters, and even make some rock paint. We can't wait to see what other adventures are in store for them the rest of the week!

We have enjoyed getting to know our campers this week from younger elementary up to OHA and Horseback 2 campers. Our third and fourth grade campers had a blast with carnival and luau and all their other activities through out the week. Last night each of our Bible study groups put on a presentation to tell all their friends and the staff about what they've learned about God at camp this week, they all did a great job!
From OHA Night caving and river trips, to horseback night rides, day camp trips to Cloud land, and taste of camp art nights, our campers never had a dull moment this week! Last night they were all able to share in Communion together and to dedicate their lives to Christ, or in some cases re-dedicate if they chose to. Our staff is very thankful we were able to experience this first step of the faith journey with our campers. We will all be continuing to pray for our campers and hope to see them back at camp very soon! We also hope everyone has an awesome school year and a safe and fun rest of the summer!

Yesterday our younger elementary campers enjoyed some group games together as well as group dancing and mixers in the Chapel. They also have Bible study everyday and worship time with our minister in residence. Today they are out and about enjoying their first full day of activities with us! Tonight they will be having carnival night where they will get to play some games, get their faces painted, and even have a balloon animal made for them, we are looking forward to an exciting evening!
Our Outdoor High Adventure campers (OHA) enjoyed our low ropes course yesterday along with mountain biking and a trip to flight park to see the sunset and have Bible study together. This morning they took off to the river to spend the night camping out and paddling on the river. We are looking forward to their return tomorrow!

Our second half of the Summer Camp season is off to a fantastic start with our Junior High campers. We were able to welcome back some familiar faces as well as meeting some new campers yesterday! They were all able to participate in some group team building exercises yesterday morning to get to know their Bible study groups. Last night they were also able to show off their moves with some group dancing in the Chapel. Group dancing was followed by group worship together and finally our campers ended the night with milk and cookies in their cabins before bedtime!
Today our campers have been out enjoying their first full day of activities together! Tonight they will be participating in some more games with their Bible study groups during team night. They also will be participating in Bible study and Chapel time as well. We are all looking forward to another fun and faith filled day tomorrow!

Older Elementary Camp was a Huge Success!

Our staff had an awesome time this week getting to know our campers. Not only did they do some fun activities but they also participated in daily Bible Study. Our Communion service was one of a kind last night with a special appearance by Mayday the horse. He served as an example for our campers in how to trust and follow God no matter how much they mess up, God will always love them. We hope our campers had as much fun this week as we did and that they continue to share what they've learned about the love of Christ this week as they go back home. We hope everyone has an amazing rest of the Summer and a great school year. We hope to have everyone back with us again next year! Have a blessed weekend and a very happy 4th of July!
Day Camp Adventure
We were also able to enjoy some time with a group of day campers again this week! Yesterday they went exploring and hiking at Cloudland Canyon and had a picnic lunch. They also had their own small group Bible study and worship this week as well. We are so glad they came to Camp Lookout this week and we hope to see them again soon!
