We hope that you and your families had a joyful Christmas season! We have hit the ground running for 2016 and are looking forward to the possibilities and opportunities that this year can bring. First off, we are excited to have Meggie McDowell as our Interim Program Director. Meggie has been on staff with us the last three years and completed an internship with us this past fall for UTC. Next, we are already working hard towards preparing for this year's summer camps. Don't forget to register a camper for this experience! Also, we are beginning to look at hiring for our open staffing positions for the summer. If you are interested, you can find the proper application to fill out under the Summer Camp tab. Finally, be on the LOOKOUT for an exciting announcement in the near future! Again, we are so excited about the upcoming year and look forward to partnering with you in ministry! This warm December day has been a perfect first day for our 2015 Christmas Camp. We have a great group that has enjoyed - Crafts - Fun Snacks - Decorating Christmas Cookies - and pretending like Flying Reindeer on the Zip-Line. We are finishing up a few crafts, then heading to game time, campfire with S'Mores, then Hot Chocolate with Christmas Carols and the reading of the Christmas story from the Bible. Wow - what a day!!!!
We have had a fantastic last day of activities with our campers today! They were able to spend some time at the pool if they wanted, make some crafts, and even try out the high ropes course if they wanted! Several campers also went to the zoo this morning while others chose to play guitar or adventure to the horse barn. Tonight our campers will be having some worship time and a Communion service with our minister in residence. After Communion our campers will be performing in the much anticipated talent show! We are looking forward to seeing what they have come up with tonight and hope for another great day tomorrow!
Our campers have had another great day today! They had several activities to choose from today including doing crafts, watching movies and practicing for their much anticipated talent show tomorrow night! This evening they spent some time singing in the Chapel and listening to the Word of God with our Minister in residence. After MIR time all our campers had a great time at the dance with one another! Now they are headed off to bed to get ready for their last full day of fun and activities tomorrow. We are excited to see what tomorrow brings and see what talents will be showcased tomorrow night!
We have had a fantastic day full of fun with our campers! Today our campers were able to ride horses at the barn, do crafts, practice for our talent show on Thursday, and some even went on a trip to the zoo; it was a very eventful day for everyone! Our campers were also very very excited for carnival night tonight where they were all able to play games, get their faces painted, and even get a balloon animal made especially for them! Tons of fun was had by all and it was a great way to end our Tuesday evening. Now our campers are headed off to their cabins to get some rest for another big day of fun and adventures tomorrow!
We had a fantastic first day to start out Celebration Week with our campers! After arriving our wonderful campers were able to have some swim time and time to make crafts if they chose to. They were also able to sing some fun songs tonight and listen to our Minister in Residence share the word of God in the Chapel. Following MIR time, we had lots of fun with some dancing and group games! They finished their night with some yummy milk and cookies for snack and are now headed off to their cabins for the night. We are so excited to have them all with us and are looking forward to tomorrow and the rest of the week ahead.
We had an awesome last full day of activities with our campers! They were able to try out things like the climbing wall, lake paddling, and even a caving trip plus many more! Tonight they will be doing presentations with their Bible Study groups to tell us about what they have learned this week; we are all very excited to see what they've come up with! After presentations they will have some worship time in the chapel followed by Communion with their fellow campers. We are excited to see how the campers express their love for God tonight and are looking forward to another great day with them tomorrow! Our day campers had an exciting day as well! They adventured to Cloudland Canyon this morning and went exploring with the new binoculars they made yesterday! They were even able to enjoy a picnic at the park and some time at the playground before heading back to camp for Bible study and some fun pool time with their friends! We are excited to have them back with us tomorrow for one last day of fun!
We have had another great day with our campers! This morning they were able to participate in their various activities followed by some worship and time with our MIR this week. They prayed together using creative prayer stations this afternoon; it was truly great to see all them showing their love for God and each other! Even with a few storms this afternoon all of our campers were safe and indoors and were able to play lots of games together to pass the time! Tonight they will be doing some fun group dancing followed by a campfire. Yummy S'Mores and camp fire songs included! We are looking forward to seeing what adventures tomorrow brings for all of our campers! Our day campers had a fun day as well! They were able to have some pool time earlier this morning as well as making some fun crafts with one another. They will be going to explore Cloudland Canyon tomorrow with their friends and will also be having a nice picnic lunch together! We can't wait to have all of them back with us in the morning!
Our campers were able to participate in their first two camp activities of their choosing today! Some conquered fears and climbed high on the ropes course and climbing wall while others spent time at the barn riding, and some even went on caving trips or mountain biking! Our campers also had Bible study this afternoon along with time with our Minister in Residence, followed by more activities! Tonight our campers will be participating in relay night games with their Bible study groups followed by an ice cream sundae party before they head off to their cabins for the night. We can't wait for all the fun still to come tonight and the rest of the week! Our day campers had a very eventful and fun day as well! They were able to try out our low ropes course here at camp and take a walk to the barn to pet the horses and they also had group Bible study with their friends. Later this week they will even be adventuring to Cloudland Canyon. We are excited to spend the rest of the week with them and have them back with us tomorrow!
We have had a great first day of camp! This morning our campers participated in some fun group activities with their Bible Study groups to get to know each other a little bit better. Currently they are all about to have their first Bible study with their new friends, following that they will get to do some fun and silly mixers and dancing. Lastly they will have some chapel time spent with our minister in residence to talk about what they learned in Bible study. To end the day they will also all be receiving some yummy cookies and milk in their cabins before they head off to bed! Our day campers had an awesome day as well! They went on a fun treasure hunt together through out the camp grounds, as well as going swim on this hot day. They were also able to enjoy some freeze pops to cool down for a snack today! We are looking forward to another great day and having them back with us tomorrow morning!
